Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Intelligent Insights ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

In addition to traditional cookies set by the server, we also use localStorage — a browser-based storage mechanism that works similarly to persistent cookies but is never automatically sent to the server. We use localStorage to remember your preferences (such as dark/light mode) and your cookie consent decision.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Essential Always active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They enable core functionality such as authentication, session management, and storing your preferences. The website cannot function properly without them — they cannot be switched off.

Analytics Requires your consent

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us understand which pages are most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. Analytics cookies are not currently active. When introduced, they will only load if you choose "Accept all" — declining prevents them from ever loading.

Marketing Requires your consent

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. Marketing cookies are not currently active. When introduced, they will only load if you choose "Accept all" — declining prevents them from ever loading.

3. Cookies We Set

The table below lists the specific cookies and localStorage items currently in use on our website, plus analytics and marketing cookies that may be activated in the future upon your consent.

Name Category Purpose Duration
theme Essential Remembers your dark/light mode preference so it persists across visits. Persistent (localStorage)
cookie_consent Essential Records your cookie consent decision (accepted or declined) to avoid showing the banner again. Persistent (localStorage)
sb-* Essential Supabase authentication session token. Keeps you logged in while using the platform. Session / 1 hour
_ga, _gid Analytics Google Analytics. Used to distinguish users and sessions to measure site usage. 2 years / 24 hours
_fbp Marketing Meta Pixel. Used to deliver targeted advertising and measure ad effectiveness. 3 months

Analytics and marketing cookies are marked as future use and are only activated if you provide explicit consent. Items marked "Persistent (localStorage)" are stored in your browser's localStorage, not as traditional HTTP cookies.

4. How Long Do Cookies Last?

Session cookies

Session cookies are temporary. They exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically when you close it. They are used to carry information from one page to another (for example, keeping you logged in during a visit).

Persistent cookies

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a period defined in the cookie's expiry date. They are reactivated each time you visit the website that set the cookie. Persistent cookies expire between 24 hours and 2 years depending on their purpose.

localStorage items

Items stored in localStorage (such as your theme preference and consent decision) have no automatic expiry date. They persist until you clear your browser data, use your browser's developer tools to remove them, or until we explicitly remove them via our code.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our website are set by third-party services. We do not control these cookies and they are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties.

Third-party services we may use (subject to your consent):

  • Google Analytics — website usage analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising and remarketing. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase — authentication and session management (essential, cannot be disabled). See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

6. Managing and Deleting Cookies

What "Decline" means in practice

If you click Decline, your decision is saved and the banner will not reappear. Essential cookies (authentication, theme preference, and your consent record) continue to operate — the site cannot function without them and declining does not affect them. Optional analytics and marketing cookies will never be loaded for as long as your decision remains declined. Since analytics are not yet active, declining currently produces exactly the same browsing experience as accepting.

Withdrawing your consent

If you previously clicked "Accept all" and wish to withdraw consent — or if you declined and wish to change your mind — you can reset your choice by clearing the cookie_consent key from your browser's localStorage. The consent banner will reappear on your next visit. To do this:

  1. Open your browser's Developer Tools (usually F12 or right-click → Inspect)
  2. Go to the Application tab (Chrome/Edge) or Storage tab (Firefox)
  3. Select Local Storage and find this website's entry
  4. Delete the cookie_consent key

Browser cookie settings

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, block, and delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may impair authentication and site functionality.

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
